Meet your Occupational Therapist - Samuel Stopp

After several years working as an Occupational Therapist within Queensland Health's Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit, I established Occupational Therapy Townsville with a clear purpose—to provide high-quality, independent Functional Capacity Assessments that genuinely reflect the everyday experiences of people living with mental health conditions and psychosocial disability.

Throughout my career, I have worked alongside adults experiencing a wide range of complex mental health presentations, supporting them through assessment, recovery planning, discharge planning, and community transition. This experience has provided me with a deep understanding of how mental health can affect a person's ability to manage daily activities, maintain routines, engage in meaningful occupations, and live independently.

I believe that every person's story is unique and deserves to be understood beyond a diagnosis. That's why I take the time to get to know each individual, exploring not only the challenges they experience but also their strengths, goals, and the supports that help them live a meaningful life.

My assessments are comprehensive, person-centred, and grounded in evidence-based occupational therapy practice. Every recommendation is supported by clinical reasoning and tailored to the individual's functional needs, ensuring reports accurately represent the real-world impact of mental health on everyday life.

Whether you're a participant, family member, support coordinator, or healthcare professional, my goal is to provide a professional, compassionate, and transparent assessment process that gives participants confidence that their story has been heard and clearly represented.

Please note: At this stage, we are accepting mental health referrals only for Functional Capacity Assessments.
